Things to Do

You’ll find a full list of our favorite summer vacation ideas here. In addition, the Crested Butte Music Festival is a well-known event due to the quality of musicians and performers each year. We highly recommend checking out the program list each year and plan your trip during these dates. The event is six-weeks long giving you ample time to see at least some of the musicians perform. Each week of the festival, the musicians focus on a particular genre like Bluegrass, Gypsy Jazz, Classical, and Opera and they perform in anything from barns, private mountain homes, churches, outdoor stages, and concern halls. Lodging can be tricky this time of year, so planning in advance is always wise.

Additional lodging options are available in the nearby town of Gunnison, just 27 miles from Crested Butte.
